Linux as an application on Windows 7

Hi,
Got hold of a new machine with Windows 7 HB on it, I was looking for different ways to install Linux OS on top of it.
Can you suggest some ways?

I got to know that Linux OS can be installed on top of Windows as an application, so that you simply double click and start using it. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Yes, you can do this using a virtualization suite like vmware workstation or Windows virtual PC

Once you setup the virtual machine it's easy as a click to fire it up :)

Another virtualisation system is VirtualBox, although I am slight less happy with it now that Oracle control it since they took over Sun, but that is mainly distrust of Oracle rather than the software performing badly.

I use it both on Windows to run Linux virtual machines and on Linux to run Windows and Linux virtual machines.
