Mac OS 10.5 - reinstall PHP

Hi,

did anyone do a reinstall (removing old, making new) (or has experience thereof) of the built in PHP in Mac OS X Leopard? I want to do that but I'm really uneasy when doing stuff like that.

background: I use SubEthaEdit (code editor) which in turn uses the built in PHP (and no, I didn't find anything where to configure this), but this PHP is missing some key features...
