looking for code version management application

hello all,

i wasnt sure under which forum i should post this Q, hope this is the one.

i am looking for easy to use/install CVS application (prefer open source) that can
help our developers team to mange the code version.
so we will have more control of our progress in each project.

any recommendation will be helpfull

CVS and Subversion are both open source, I find Subversion easier on the dev end (especially if you want to use Google Code, as they'll host a repository for you), but I've never set up a repository for either. That said, there's lots of tutorials available online for them.

You may also want to have a look at git. There are also a number of articles available that compare the pros and cons of the different systems.
