Problem with RedHat server file storage

Chittaranjan
Hi All,

I have a big problem with my server and need some solutions to solve. I am working on PHP project and my code base had been set up on one of our RedHat server. I am not sure why in sometimes the code files I am modifying or creating is being 0 Byte.

It looses all the code I had written but the file exists. I am working on a windows system and connecting the Linux server using FTP client. So it is creating a big problem for me when the code files goes blank at all. I am not sure why this kind of thing is happening. Is this any RedHat server issue or some thing else?

Please suggest what can I do to get rid of this issues since it is harming my work and progress.

Thanks and Regards,
Chittaranjan.

Hi Chittaranjan!

So, do I understand correctly: You write a file on your Windows System and send it to the Red Hat Server via FTP, just to find out that the file on the Red Hat Server is 0 MB big?

If so, I don't think, it's because of Red Hat specifically, but possibly because of your FTP Client. However, I can't be absolutely sure about this.

Which FTP Client are you using and which FTP Server is running on the Red Hat Servers?

Greetings,
Nepomuk

Hi nepomuk,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. Yes you understood my problem. I am using NetDrive ad FTP client on Windows system and proftpd for RedHat server.

Please suggest what is the wrong with it.

Thanks,
Chittaranjan
