hello, actually there are some files in a folder, now if i a user want to FTP those files to some other desired folder / location, its giving error like permisson denied. So, my question is what permission (Read, write, Execute) should I set for the other user so that he could FTP that but should not modify OR delete it.

Read permission should be all he'd need to cp them. Don't forget to give him permission to visit the directory they're in, too (this is actually execute permission, not read permission).

Means, i need to give the read permissions to the files and Read and Execute permission to the folder where the files reside ..
