hp unix - dynamic linker does not resolve symbols as expected

1
Hi

We have an odbc driver that we wrote. This is actually a shared object which implements a set of SQLxxx functions.
There is also another shared object that we did not write, which is the odbc driver manager. The odbc driver manager implements the same set of functions.
An application that invokes odbc calls (i.e. calls to SQLxxx functions) is dynamically linked to the odbc driver manager.
The odbc driver manager then maps these calls to our driver.

There is a case in which a function in the driver, let say SQLa, calls the function SQLb. We would expect SQLb to be taken from our driver. However, the dynamic linker insists to take SQLb from the odbc driver manager.

We have tried to link our driver with the -bSymbolic option but it didn't help.

Thanks,
ilan.
