I figured it out :)
Problem is that user rights don't function correctly on fat32 partitions, and in my case it was mounted without rights to others
i changed the umask in /etc/fstab to be the correct and i was afterwards able to view the page correctly :)
I am a beginner at linux. I don't even know how to start a new thread. Oh well. I will simply do it here.
I have a brand new cow. I mean computer. I love it. It has made many things possible. Vista on the other hand has let me down. Fifteen times. So i put in dreamlinux. With a pair of pliers. I also had a 3/8"x3/8" picture of the inside of someone elses computer to work with. I started with a new hard drive { its a western digital 300 mb/s Cavier 16 Se 320 gb for those who like the details like i do. Even though I have no idea wht it means at this point} I guess it was a small success- I'm using DreamLinux right now. i simply unplugged the OEM hard drive with those pliers and never looked back.
Of course untill two weeks ago, I never saw the inside of a computer. Ever. So with such, I, like everyone else, am having some issues.
for example:
my mouse stops working. - untill I shut the computer off and cut it back on again. Batteries are new. I tried changing them four times. Thats not it.\
The command window does not recognise ANY commands. Mostly I get "-No such file or directory." Though on /mnt/dev/sdc0 mnt/cdrom blah blah blah - I get "Permission Denied". How you gonna deny me permission ?? Its my computer.
Can someone suggest a work around ??
My idea of hacking a computer is a blow torch. Please be VERY VERY VERY VERY - did I sat Very yet ??- specific.
I am not arrogant. I don't defend myself with pride. I'm fat, so I'm pretty thick skinned. I got tonnes of drive. Please say your piece.
Tell me what I got to do and I'll do it, no problem.
