how to delete my file from the directory

I could not delete a file inside a directory.

(L)SUMV3/sparse/src/stk/dmg_meta_doc$ ls -lrt
total 4876
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rragave gposumdv 30301 Jul 13 06:51 Makefile
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rragave gposumdv 28792 Jul 13 06:53 dmg_docfns.o
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rragave gposumdv 27475 Jul 24 13:47 dmg_flexicheckswapclear.cc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 rragave gposumdv 72832 Jul 27 07:53q
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rragave gposumdv 99280 Jul 30 11:31 dmg_documentdo.cc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 rragave gposumdv 239 Jul 30 14:11 ras.cc
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rragave gposumdv 569864 Aug 1 08:06 dmg_documentdo.o

The file q is created somehow(I dont know how and when), But I could not delete this.
I am doing

(L)SUMV3/sparse/src/stk/dmg_meta_doc$ rm -f q

But this is not removing q. Please let me know how to delete this.
Thanks in advance.

What is your username? I'm guessing, that the folder has been set so you do not have the permission to delete it, though hopefully someone in our Linux forum will be able to confirm or deny this.

PS - I'm also moving this over to the Linux/Unix/BSD forum as it does not look like you are using C or C++ to do this.
