What is meant by 'regular file'?

Hi,

Did anyone can tell what is meant by 'regular file', the -f option in syntax of test?
I know this is just easy to answer for you guys especially those who are very familiar in unix-scripting.

> test ! -f myfile.sh

> who $? - may give you a value of 1 if true, and 0 if false.

I'm a bit confused which files are really regular or not.

In Unix, everything is a file. Regular files are files that are not symlinks, directories, etc. That is, files that contain real data, such as text, binary files, etc.
