how to get ubuntu and install it.is redhat or ubuntu easier to install

i am knew to linux and i want to know more about it.so as a first step i want to install it in my computer.From where i will get the linux .From this forum i knew that ubuntu is somewhat easier to install,from where i will get ubuntu.what about installing redhat.

You can download Ubuntu (or order free CDs) from www.ubuntu.com. Look for a live CD (not sure they offer one). This will allow you to easily test Ubuntu Linux before you install it on your machine.

From the installation point of view, most Linux distributions are quite similar and easy to install nowadays.

yea thts right..you can either download the latest version of ubuntu 7.04beta or you can ask for a free cd of the old version

RedHat is a commercial distro these days, but you can download Fedora Core which is run by the same people.
I personally would suggest Ubuntu for a beginner, as the Ubuntu forums are both active and friendly.

Yeah Ubuntu and Mandriva 2007, are probably the easiest distros to get comfortable with. Fedora is solid, but is not very inviting.
