Corruption of Metadata in Analysis Services

I'm getting the following error on SQL Server 2005 SP4:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. The following system error occurred: The system cannot find the file specified. .
  2. Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when loading the [datasource name] datasource, from the file,
  3. '\\?\[Path to datasource].xml'.
Everything I read online points to corruption of the database. So I followed the directions, stop the service, delete the database folder, restart the service. But that didn't work. Then I discovered it wasn't just the one database, it was all the databases on our Analysis Services server. Odd thing is, we can run MDX queries but we can't run anything else. We did recently move the server onto a virtual machine so I wonder if that's what's causing the issue. And we applied some patches on the day it started failing. But they were important security patches and I didn't find anything online regarding problems with those patches.
