Joining tables in different databases instance and SQL servers

Hi,

I'm joining tables from 2 different databases instance located on different SQL Server, I tried server.database.owner.table but I got the following error:

"Could not find server 'ims-gehanne' in sysservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers."

Please advice

Link the ims-gehanne server to your current server as the error said. Check the syntax of sp_addlinkedserver in BOL.
