Performance Issues in SQL Server

P: 7
I was wondering if the use of temporary tables can lead to poor performance.

Also, if I choose to extract the results of my query into an excel file, will this cause a high extra overhead?

Lots of factors. What are you trying to do? What kind of read? write? processing? etc
