No of rows conflict in a table

Hi,

The 'properties' option of a table through the 'Enterprise Manager'
shows different no of records against the row selection through sql
query analyzer.

Any answers why so?

Thanks

Do you mean that SELECT COUNT(*) FROM dbo.MyTable doesn't give the same
results as the Properties dialogue? This is not unexpected, because the
Properties dialogue uses the rows column in sysindexes to get the rowcount,
but this can be inaccurate - see DBCC UPDATEUSAGE in Books Online for more
information.

You can try running this command, then check the Properties again:

exec sp_spaceused 'MyTable', 'true'

But the only reliable way to get an accurate rowcount is to use SELECT
COUNT(*).
