I am using MS SQL server 7.0 as the database for my java and c++
applications.
I will be working on a remote PC with my c++ applications and thru
system DSN i will be communicating with the database.
I had set client configuration in my system DSN to TCP/IP. I was using
SQL Server authentication.
Every thing was working fine. but one limitation was: Unless i login
to the machine where database server is residing, using machine's
username and password, i could not able to connect to the database.
I accidentally changed the client configuration of my system DSN to
multiprotocol, then onwards i am able to connect to the database
server without logging in to the machine where database is residing.
Is it OK to use multiprotocol client configuration.
please help
