Thank you for that. Can you please tell me what is the different
between the evaluation and the developer edition ?
I need to use it as a one user database for my system. Is it possible
to do so ? Can I find somewhere a small version that I can try for
free ?

The Evaluation Edition only runs for 120 days. Also, service packs are
generally not applicable on Evaluation Edition.

The Developer Edition has no such restrictions from a technical point
of view. From a license point of view, however, I don't think you are
entitled to use Developer Edition to host a production database.

If you need to run an application database on XP Pro, you need to use
MSDE or Personal Edition. MSDE comes with various products such as Office
and Visual Studio. Personal Edition is not available as a separate
product; you need to buy Standard Edition to get it.
