Hi All

I was wondering if there is a way to be able to tell when a tables data has
been changed (Record inserted updated or deleted), as i wish to be able to
tell this from an sql stored procedure if possible

Thanks

You could use an update trigger to log the update somewhere. Your sp
could read that log.

Hi
Although you can have triggers activated when data is added/amended or
deleted from a table (see Create trigger in books online), I think that you
are wishing to trigger an event somehow. You could probably interface
through a trigger with your own COM object (sp_OA* procedures) but this
could quite possibly create problems as you transactions could be left
hanging and everything could lock themselves out! The alternative would be
to use a second table that contains details regarding the changes made
(similar to an audit table) then you could periodically check this table for
changes made.
