Hello,
I am running SQL Server 7 on a Windows 2000 server, with aprox. 10
databases. The largest database is 1,5 Gb the smallest 10 MB. The
databases are used as databases for various websites.
My problem is that (since a few days), when I start the MS SQL Server
7 service, the process (sqlservr.exe) is directly increasing fast to
approx. 500+ (513 or 517) threads. With about 60MB of used memory. The
strange thing is that it always goes to exactly 517 or 513. My maximum
number of configured threads is 500. So that is also quite strange...
The processor activity is not different from normal (in other words,
the threads are not causing higher processor activity).
One strange thing also is that the server is receiving a BIG bunch of
the data (42 Megabit burst) about every 2 hours. It looks like a hack?
I've installed ALL security patches and all 1432 to 1434 ports are
blocked.
Does anybody have an idea where this could be about?
Is there a possibility to track down who/what is using/causing each
individual thread? In SQL server manager the number of threads are a
lot lower, as I could see there are about 10-15 threads...
Thanks in advance!!
Regards,
Dennis.
