Sony laptop with AMD processor - Cannot install SQL

I have above server and I cannot install MS.SQL server on it.

I have WIN-xp professional.

I tried sql 2000 personal version as well as sql 2000 professional version,
it says "cannot install on this operating system "

I would appreciate if someone please help me.

Personal version and developers version will install on XP professional.

Meh,

It's probably not the Notebook/Sony/AMD. More likely licensing.

SQL 2000 personal addition should install fine on XP Pro,
as will developer and evaluation editions. Anything "bigger" will not.

I'm not sure what you mean by "professional version" though, and
you really don't need to post to quite so many newsgroups at once.
