DTS to .exe! HOW?

antonopn
Hello there,

I' a newbie here and I try this thing with no success.

I've made a data transformation parckage (DTS) in SQL SERVER 2000. It creates a table, copies data into in and alters it.

I want to make a dll (or a type of executable file) in which this process is done automatically, not by opening enterprize manager etc.

I've tried doing it by saving it as a .bas file but I miss something...

Can you please help me?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND YOUR PATIENCE!!!!

In fact the whole process is running. The only file I execute is the producted .bas file.
I found that I should have ckecked on project->properties three microsoft dts libraries.

The only problem I have right now is that the dts is made by import wizard. I import data from a text file, into a table I create.

The table is created but there is no data in it after executing the .bas file! If I execute the dts package the process is done normaly.

Any suggestions PLEASE?

Do it the other way around. Create your DTS as package. Create an job that will run this DTS in a regular basis (maybe monitor a folder if a file is there).
