Help with data transfer

Hi,

We have a unique situation here that is puzzling me. I have a program
that uploads data to our SQL Server. The program runs fine on WIndows
95. I have installed it on a Windows 2000 machine and it will connect
to our data but will not upload. It processes the file but the data
does not appear in the database.

I have checked the ODBC setup and everything is the same except I used
sqlsvr32.dll instead of sqlsrvr.dll for the 32 bit driver.

I know this isn't a lot of information to go on, but the program was
written by a contractor who has since been replaced and I don't really
have an idea of even where to begin checking.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Unfortunately, there's probably not a lot that anyone else can help
you with. If you have a custom tool, then it would be almost
impossible for someone else to offer good advice. From what you say,
it's possible that the tool requires the older ODBC driver, and
doesn't work with the newer one, but that's simply a guess.

You might be able to investigate by using SQL Trace (SQL6.5) or
Profiler (SQL7/2000), to see exactly what the tool is sending to the
database. That might give you some information to work with, and if
you have the source code for the tool then you could look at that too.
