Save a function as a function.

I am trying to modify an existing table-valued function. When I open it, it turns into a query. So when I attempt to save it, I am prompted with a save as box for an sql statement to 'My Projects' folder, rather than saving the function as all the others listed in my Object explorer. How do I save a function as a function?

How do I save a function as a function?

option 1:
on your sql-analyzer, type: sp_helptext myFunction...in your result window will display the text of the function (unless it's encrypted). copy and paste that to an editor so that you can edit it. paste it back to your query-analyzer to create it.

option 2:
in sql server manager, right-click your function then script function-as alter to-sql window or you can also output this to a file.
