Setting Up A Remote SQL 2000 Connection

Hello, I am using SQL 2000 SP4, with the VB/VC++ environment. I have a server configured at the head office of one of my clientes, which uses an adhoc network.. that is.. Windows XP Operating System, and I need for the other computers in the other offices in other locations connect to the server stated above via internet.. To connect through the local network.. I use a DSN through the ODBC manager..
Any help on this onde? about the procedures involved?
Thanks in advance
