Working with DTS

Hello,

I am trying to setup a DTS package that pulls the contents from a table and places it into an access table.

Part 1:

When I save it on the sql and set it up to be scheduled I get the below error.

Step 1: New Package
Non-SysAdmins have been denied permission to run CmdExec job steps. The step failed.

The owner of the package has the proper rights to run it, and the SQL Server Agent that actually executes the document has System Admin rights.

If you have any suggestions let me know.

Part2:

I then tried to save it as a vbscript.

This worked, I made it executable and tested it, hey, bingo I have output. I then recompiled the DTS into the vbscript, but instead of using Windows Authentication I specified the user/pass word for accessing the db and now it won’t work.

I do not crash, it just does not complete the item, I logged into the server with the credentials the program used and then ran the exact same Select statement that is generated(retrieved it from the Immediate window) and it returned me the results.

Any Ideas as to what is happening.
