URL Hyperlinking issue

So I'm at my wits end with this problem. I'm trying to create an ASP page that will read data from a SQL database. In my production environment I'm using sql 2000 and in my test environment i'm using sql express 2005. When my code is EXACTLY the same I get different results on this line...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.          Response.Write "<td><a href='http://" & Recordset1("URL") & "'>" & Recordset1("URL") & "</a></td>"
In the production environment the link appears fine in the test environment the second call to recordset1 doesn't appear at all. The only difference is the SQL version... please help

Before I give up on this tread I have to try one bump :)

Anyone have any ideas at all as to why this wouldn't work?

maybe this will help too, this is the code result first from the test environment then the second when you view source through IE7

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <td><a href='http://www.test2.com'></a></td>
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <td><a href='http://www.pearldrummersforum.com'>www.pearldrummersforum.com</a></td>
