Delta between current and previous row of select

1
Hi,

I'm new to SQL and have the following problem.
My table contains a TimeSpent value, indicating the amount of time spent for a particular task.
There is also a ChangedDate value for each change.
I have to retrieve the work done for each person during a specified period of time.
I have a query that returns all rows for which the TmeSpent field has changed during the specified period of time.
But to find the work done, I also need the TimeSpent value just before the start date of the period.
How can I get this previous value for all rows returned by the SELECT statement ?

Thanks.
