Transposing rows as columns

Hello Friends,
I need your help.
I have one problem if anyone know about it then reply soon.

I have records like this:::

proj_id date total
01 2007/04 30
01 2007/05 40
01 2007/06 50
01 2007/07 60
02 2007/04 10
02 2007/05 40
02 2007/06 50
02 2007/07 80

In the above records in the date field duration is fixed for 4 months.....

And I want to convert this records like this::::

proj_id 2007/04 2007/05 2007/06 2007/07
01 ------ 30 ------ 40------ 50------ 60
02 ------ 10------ 40------ 50------ 80

I think here is the clear view.....................In above record dotted line
is only for formating so dont consider it.
Pls anyone know then give me the answer its very urgent......

Thanks
