Stored Procedure / Cursor Help

I have a table that im trying to update everytime there is an insert. I have the trigger set up to call a stored procedure for this.
The table consists of (LoanID, HistoryCounter, TransactionDate, EndTransactionDate) what i need to do is for each item for a specific loanid i want to update the EndTransactionDate with the next records TransactionDate. On the last record use systemdate.

This is going to be run as these transactions can be removed from the list and more will be added. How would i traverse the sql to read in the data for each row?

Not sure if I understand your question correctly.
You can put following statement inside your trigger.

EndTransactionDate = getdate()
from history_table h
join inserted i on h.LoanID = i.LoanID[/PHP]
