User unable to update database

Users are unable to update the database. I have checked via Enterprise Manager, and when accessing the properties of the particular SQL Server database, under General, Space Available, it says 0.00 MB. I am, perhaps wrongly, assuming that this is the problem. However, under the Data Files tag the file properties are set to grow automatically by percentage, and with unrestricted file growth. There is also plenty of space on the drive. Can you be any help please.
