I am running transactional replication, replicating a 300 GB database.
When building the original subscription, I did not run a snapshot, but
initialized my subscription through backup.
Now, when I'm adding a new article, I'm unable to initialize it using
the snapshot agent.
On the other hand, if I initialize my subscription through snapshot,
I'm later able to add individual articles without having to
reinitialize the entire subscription.
Is there a way to initialize new subscription through backup, but later
on initialize additional articles using the snapshot agent?
