It's hard to say - it depends a lot on the queries you execute, as well as
on the volume of data you have. MS recommends allowing it to grow
automatically, but I don't know of any suggested way to establish a starting
size. You could just leave it as default, then see how large it grows - when
you have a feel for how big it needs to be, you can then change the database
size so it's larger on startup.

If by "parameters" you mean the size, then you can use performance monitor
to monitor the SQLServer:Databases data and log file size counters; you can
write your own simple script to check the database size at certain
intervals; or if you use a third-party MSSQL monitoring tool, it should be
able to do this.
