Changing subnets help?

When seting up the Host and Satellite SQL Servers on same subnet
replication works fine. Then the same Satellite SQL Server is moved to
another subnet connected to the Host subnet via standard routers. Both
Host and Satellite can ping each other by name, but replication stops
working. The Distribution Agents on the Host site shows "Login failed
for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a t...". Moving the
Satellite back to the same subnet as the Host removes all errors and
replication is running again.

Any ideas what might be happening here ?

thanks
Sunit
