Using Query Analyzer with Windows Auth across domains

KC
Howdy,

I have a SQL server in a completely different forrest than the
workstation I am running query analyzer on. However in query analyzer
when I choose windows authentication I cannot manually specify
"domain\username" as I could when mapping a file share across domains
or forests. Is there any way around this without resorting to using SQL
Server authentication?

Thanks

You might try mapping a drive to the target SQL Server in order to establish
the needed security credentials. Then try the Windows authenticated
connection.

Hope this helps.
