Is SQL Query Analyzer available anywhere as a stand alone application?

No. But you get can Developer Edition for around 50 USD. They also say
that the tools that comes with Evaluation Edition never expire. (But you
can upgrade with service packs.) In both cases, there may be license issues
if you intend to use it with a production environment.
