SOLVED: [dbnetlib] connectionread (recv()) error

I have an Access application that connects to a SQL Server 2000
instance.

Every other time I start my application, I receive a nasty
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead(recv()).]General network error. Then I close
my application, open it up, and the error doesn't appear.

I've been searching on and off for a few weeks for a solution, and
though I found a few suggestions (namely setting the connectiontimeout
property of my connection object to a number greater than 0), I
couldn't a solution.

FINALLY today, on an obscure message board, I found a reference to the
following microsoft kb article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=sql2k

Apparently you can't use resource pooling when connecting to sql server
using an application role. This article explains further and tells you
how to disable it.

Hopefully this post will help someone :)

Alex
