Procedure Encryption - Any side effects?

If I encrypt the SQL Procedures in my database will that cause any side
effects?
Will there be performance degradation?

Is it good to encrypt them or they can easily be unencrypted?

Thank you

They can be fairly easily encrypted.

Thank you

AFAIK the only side-effect is that it makes people THINK their code is
hidden. The encryption is easily broken using free tools on the net so it's
a waste of time IMO.

As David said, anyone who wants to break into your code can do so. The
way I view it's like putting up a fence around your house. It doesn't
really keep evil minds out, but it prevents people from strolling into
your garden by mistake.

What is essential to protect your intellectual property is to have a
strong license agreement.
