Is there a way to install without the cd since mine is scratched? This is for 2002 edu version. I've tried submitting a support request on the ms site, but *everytime* I submit it says it couldn't do it which is very frustrating. If anyone knows a solution I'd appreciate it. The setup forums are dead :(

Not sure who to ask about this so, I have an app that grabs data from flat file and populates a dataset with it. Then using update method of a DataAdapter I insert all that data in to the SQL Server table. I have a separate app, console app for now, that monitors queue table and starts my other app to read the file and insert it in to the DB....

I tried to install Python 2.51 on Microsoft Vista Ultimate 32-bit because I use the 3D modeler software Blender 2.44, in case I needed additional Python support in the future for add-on scripts. After several days of playing with Linux I just told the update manager to update all components of the OS and all installed programs. After completing it's tasks my machine now refuses to boot. But will allow me to boot to the old version of the OS. This is a marginal improvement over a blue screen I suppose. Back to Windows I go...

I got a Windows XP update yesterday and it 'failed' three times so far to install - Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. Anyone knows what this is, why it won't install, or if I really need it? A friend also gave me a seven year old Dell 4100 running XP Pro. It actually dual boots to Win 2000 Pro also. That won't install Win XP SP 2...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
