sql server2000 how do i stop running a stored procedure

4 New Member
Hi,
My sp creates an error report.
at a certain stage i want it to stop running if there
are errors in thar report.
I wrote:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
 1. DECLARE @myparam INTEGER
 2. SELECT @myparam=COUNT(*) FROM report_errors1
 3.   IF (@myParam>0)
 4.     BEGIN
 5.       print 'stop running due to existing errors ! '
 6.       commit
 7.     END
but unfortunately after printing the above message,
the procedure operates next commands.
I wonder if anyone will be kind enough to correct the above
code that is not doing what i wanted it.
Thank a lot !

Try this:
DECLARE @myparam INTEGER
SELECT @myparam=COUNT( *) FROM report_errors1
IF (@myParam>0)
BEGIN
print 'stop running due to existing errors ! '
Return
END
You ca n simplify this code like this:
IF (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM report_errors1) > 0
BEGIN
print 'stop running due to existing errors ! '
Return
END
Good Luck.

Here is my code: THIS WORKS: sql="SELECT PartNumber FROM Scrap WHERE DateOpened BETWEEN '20030601', '20030605'" 'Note: I already did my connection object above

I use page_load to call a stored procedure and populate the form. When the user clicks the OK button on the form I have implemented an event handler behind it (OKButton_Click()) that calls another stored procedure to insert a record in the database then navigate to a success page. However, when the OKButton_Click() is called the page_load event is also called. This unnescessarilly sets up the page again. How can I stop page_load event...

Stepping into a stored procedure used to be fairly straight-forward, but after following the guidance in all 6 or so of the MSDN pages about enabling debugging of stored procedures in SQL Server 2005 using VS .NET 2005 running on WinXP Pro (SP2) -- I'm still having no luck. Remote debugging works fine. Stepping into a procedure through the IDE (without the calling app running works fine) A quick inspection of the attached processes...

I have a framed website. I plan to include in default.asp a routine to check if the annual subscription is due from the records in the People table. If so, then the routine would send emails to those who are due and update the table that this had been done, so that it is only done once. If session 1 is doing just this, session 2 (and 3 and n) could be doing the same thing.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
