Unable to reinstall Enterprise Manager from original disk: service pack rejected

I would like to reinstall the enterprise manager of sql server 2000,
and i have currently sql server 2000 SP4 installed on it.
I googled on it, and read that installation of enterprise manager is
possible from the setup disk, however, this is not possible: it rejects
because of the service pack.
How can I reinstall enterprise manager, without haveing to uninstall
sql completely?
Thanks
Prem

I don't run uninstall that very often, but I would expect that you should
be able to uninstall the tools only.

Uninstalling the tools only, as you suggest, seems as much as
impossible to perform as re-installing it. When I startup the
installation disk of exchange 2000, it immeditately rejects the current
(sp4) service pack.
Is there a way to get around this?
Thanks

Exchange 2000? Try SQL 2000. :-)

I tried this, and it appeared to be prepare to wipe out my installation.
(It failed since I had Query Analyzer running.)

Then there does not seem to be an alternative to remove tools only,
and Books Online says that you can only install all of it. If the
Setup disk is not co-operative, you can use Add/Remove programs.

Before you uninstall, save your master database files and the other
databases. Once you have completed reinstalltion, just put back the
old databases where you found them.

LOL yes I mean sql 2000 (typo), i keep mixing them up.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I will do the remove all-install all
solution when I really have to. maybe the sql 2000 enterprise manager
may not be very necessary in practice, I can probably live without it
working, or use another application to work with it .
If I have problems, I'll post back.
Thanks again
Prem
