SQL Server 2005 install - no Management Server

I installed SQL Server Enterprise 64-bit. The installation seemed to
go fine, except the only thing listed under "MicroSoft SQL Server 2005"
is "Configurat ion Tools" in the startup menu.

I have no Management Tools.

Visual Studio 2005 is also installed on the box, and I read that
because VS installs SQL Express, that this can be a problem.

Okay, so what do I do now? I can't get the installation program to
install the Management Tools. When I try again it says:
"The following components that you chose to install are
already installed on the machine."
(Workstation components, Books Online and development tools
9.00.1399.06)

Please help!

Hi

If you have SqlWb.exe on your server then it is installed and you could
either try copying the start menu items from another machine. Alternatively
look at trying to remove the componenets using the add/remove programs
applet in control panel.

Failing that you may want to totally remove SQL Server and SQL Express and
try to install from scratch. If necessary remove Visual studio as well and
re-install starting with SQL Server.

After I install everything (with no install errors) I can use SQL 2005 Mgt Studio fine until I bring up SQL 2000 Query Analyzer or Enterprise Mgr. After that, I cannot bring up SQL 2005 Mgt Studio. Hello, I had SQL2000 server running fine on the windows 2003 box. I then installed SQL 2005 Express. They both worked together fine. I then uninstalled SQL 2005 Express and installed SQL 2005 Server. But when I open SQL Server Management Studio, I can only connect to the SQL 2000 engine. In the Object explorer, it says v8.0.2039 (which I think is SQL 2000 Server, because I can see the existing SQL 2000 databases). How can I get SQL...

Hi, I have VStudio2005, SQLServer 2005 dev edition loaded on a windowsXP Pro machine. I installed it ok. Hello, in order to perform backup/restore MSSQL database using SMO, one needs to reference several namespaces in a backup class : using Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common; using Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo; Unfortunately, MSSQL 2005 and MSSQL Express keep them in different place. For MSSQL2005 they are located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server \90\SDK\Assemblies and for MSSQL Express you can find them in C:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
