SQL 2000 SP3

In reviewing this screen, I have SPIDS > 100 that have a status of
sleeping, command = AWAITING COMMAND and login/batch dates that are
weeks old ... Shouldn't this list be more recent activity only ?

I guess that depends on what you expect on your site. If you have
developers who connect through Query Analyzer every once in a fortnight,
this is would display like this.

I don't know if that screen shows application, hostname and that, but
you can use sp_who2 or query sysprocesses directly to get this information.
This can give you an idea whether this is normal, or if something is

Just posting this for the sake of google: Like everyone else, I figured it's time to start using the 'logging' module. I typically want to dump "info" level (and up) log information to screen, and "debug" level (and up) to a log file for in-depth analysis. This is for scripts, so date/time/severity information is not wanted. I assumed such a simple use case would have an example in the docs (py 2.4), but no luck.

Does anyone know the best way to detect and track a visitors screen resolution. I know the javascript to detect the users resolution but I am a bit confused on the best way to track and save this. Should I save it to a database or is it easier to save it to a text file?

A friend of mine pointed out the other day that certain elements on my web site are too small. But in most of what I publish, fonts are at default size or smaller, and my images are easy to see. I am viewing at 800x600 right now by the way, because that's what I can comfortably see. Times New Roman default pitch is what - 12px? With people increasing their screen resolutions, is it possible for "default size to ever become too small in...

Hi, Does someone know how to stop "the information output on screen"? Now when I run my code, it outputs a lot of message when calling other libraries, together with the info with the print command I used. How can I mask these info on screen when calling other libraries and how I can mask the info output produced by the print command? Is there a way to mask them separately.

Hi, I want to be able to come up with some way of navigating around a system that allows me to save certain screen info (Say combo box setting) so that when returning to the screen from a link on another screen it remembers the screen settings as they were. Using javascript can obviously be messy as I found Session variables could be overkill since different screens have potentially different

Team, I am developing a web service. In testing in on my enw PC, I am expecting to see exceptions thrown appear on my browser. Instead I am getting an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error page and I am not seeing my exception details. The web.config file being used has the setting <customErrors mode="Off"/>. This should allow me to see the detailed exception info. On a different computer - same code - same web config - the exception details...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
