I'm just wondering whether anyone can provide me with the plain-text contents of the simplest, most basic PDF file possible, showing something like:
Hello, this is some underlined and bold text.I need to add the capability to a program to produce a little output as a readable PDF document. Nothing fancy; no locking, graphics, whatever - just plain text with underlining and bolding.
I've been doing some research on the web and have downloaded various documentation on the PDF standard, but it's quite a mass to take in and will take a while. It did include what was supposedly the sort of minimal content I'm looking for, but for some reason it didn't work - caused an error in the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Basically this is just for a proof-of-concept to show that it's possible, simply writing plain text (no API or 3rd party product), for my program to produce a PDF document. The language is irrelevant here - I don't have a problem with my coding, just need a sample of what should come out the other end.
Note, I've already got it to produce RTF output, which is much simpler. Until you load it into MS Word and save it again, which expands it by a few thousand characters. :)
