DFD for casestudy

1
Hi there

I have been given a case study from University, where I have to create a level 1 DFD.

I have tried this so many times but when I try to connect external entities, there are so many data flow lines in the way that I can't connect them!!!!

Im sick of trying to re-design it and its taking up way more time than I thought.

Im also finding that it wont actually fit onto an a4 sheet of paper.

I am just posting this to ask if it actually possible to repeat an entity rather than trying to connect it all up?

Thanks

The point of a DFD is to give a good graphical representation of the system. If you do it with out any repeated entities and the diagram doesn't make any sense then what good would it be? On the other hand if you repeat entities how does a person know which entity they are looking at?

Alternatively you can look at the graphviz.org project where you can download their modeling software and it will create and connect your nodes for you. It might be easier to do it this way then hand draw it.
