C++ back-end + what front-end?

Hi,

I am planning on developing a little desktop application that will be a music teaching program, specifically instruments teaching. I want to use C++ as the back-end but I'm not sure on the front-end. The reason I am thinking of some other front-end is because the GUI will be quite complex and needs to be flashy. Namely it will have some animation maybe done with flash.
So my questions are:
1) Which language to use in the front-end(is C++ a good choise and if so any suggested libraries?)
2) Can I bind more than one languages, for instance use a flash animation but use C# for buttons etc..?

Thanks in advance
Stelios
P.S. Sorry if this is too general but I don't have it clear yet to describe the problem better.

I'm no C++ expert, but in general I see a database like MySQL as backend and PHP as the language for the frontend. PHP will allow the embedding of Flash and e.g. AJAX for direct access, but also MS SQL and ASP could be used when supported by your ASP.

What makes you say that?
.... and PHP as the language for the frontend .....

Two tier development in general is a database engine as backend and a GUI maintained by some tool/language as a frontend.
Going into three tier would require an additional layer with code to maintain the business rules.

When you use PHP as the 'HTML construction tool', you are right.
Going into three tier would require an additional layer with code to maintain the business rules.
That could be PHP.
