How Do You Keep Track of Passwords?

Hi Bytes Community,

I was wondering how most of you keep track of all of your usernames and passwords? I probably have 15 to 25 accounts on the internet with different usernames and passwords. I also own a website design company, and I need a way to keep track of all of my client username and passwords for hosting account, domain name registrars, etc.

I guess I am really asking two questions here:

1. How do I track my personal online account info (username/password)

2. How do I keep track of login info for my hosting accounts and domain name accounts?

I am running Mac OS X and they have an application called "Keychain" that does this, but I am wondering whether or not there is something better.

Thanks,
Tim

You mean short of memorizing them? You could get a program that encrypts information. You just have to make sure the encryption is strong and the master password is strong.

I wrote a piece of code, it will save my passwords and you can only open the file with a password. It's encrypted
