how to read a wav file and store it in a numpy array using scipy?

P: 1
Can someone please help me doing this in python?

I read a wav file using the code
from scipy.io import wavfile
wavfile.read("filepath")

the output was
"reading fmt chunks
reading data chunks"??
I don't know how to store it in numpy so that i can perform fft on it.

Type

x=wavfile.read("filepath")

then x[0] is the sample rate, and x[1] is the array of data.

I'm curious to see how this turns out for you. I've been trying to use a discrete wavelet transform on a .wav file, but haven't been able to successfully write the resulting array to a .wav file.
