command and module to run eclipse within python

I am trying to run eclipse within python script using the following command
os.system(r'$eclipse -file FLOW')
I get the following error when I import the module
import os

error: no module named os

I am using geostatistical software SGeMS as an interface.

I would appreciate your quick response

Either the file does not exist or your path does not include the Python library.
