dom or sax?

hello people!
i have a program that reads, real-time, 24 frame per second , one xml file at each frame,and i need to get data from that file, would it be better to use dom or sax?

from what i read, sax uses less memory, since it reads the stream bit my bit, but does that mean that it is actually good in this specific case? knowing that i need to read the whole file anyway,

ps. each file size should be around 1 MB.

(btw, what is the most efficient way for parsing the file? a hint about it after saying if its sax or dom :))
