Newbie - Python 3.0a - how to run from Windows command prompt

I am very new to python .. My prob is if I type in d program directly in GUI of the Python 3.0a then it runs it line y line bt if i want to type in a program n run it in shell .. how am i supposed to do it ? I write a prog in a text editor say NOTEPAD then how do i run it in d command line of python ?

You give the file the .py extension and run it as an argument of the python command:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. python script.py
For windows you have to add the Python directory in the PATH for this to work anywhere in your folders.
