Game Programming with Python

Hello there,

I want to learn programming and love games. so i want to make some little games like tetris etc...to learn Python..
Some say that C++ is the only language to go with..for games..is that true..i read that some of the games have python codes in them...
Can you show me a way to start or some links..and i need ideas for choosing the right language is Python not the one..

Python is able to achieve great performance by using modules that are implemented in C.

There are tutorials in the PyGame Docs, as one example. A tetris-like game could also be written using Tkinter, but tutorials are hard to find.
